The specialists of Kiwa BCS Öko-Garantie have conducted an annual inspection of Savinskaya Niva organic farming enterprise.
As part of the audit, the inspectors evaluated soil, crop and feed quality compliance, cow health and housing conditions. The laboratory tests confirmed that Savinskaya Niva enterprise fully meets the requirements of the European organic farming standards.
‘The audit results prove that our production processes are in line with high international standards, regulations and requirements necessary to ensure our consumer safety’, points out Olga Laminskaya, Manager of Technical Regulation and Standardisation Department at EkoNiva-Food.
According to the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), organic farming is a holistic production management system that promotes and enhances agro-ecosystem health, including biodiversity, biological cycles, and soil biological activity. All production processes are subject to the stringent regulations and rules. For instance, the application of crop protection chemicals is strictly forbidden, and cows can live only in a natural environment.
The enterprise is also certified in accordance with the Russian organic certification standard. Besides, Savinskaya Niva is a member of the National Organic Union and an affiliate of the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM).
